The clinical study of a children´s sinusitis

Abstract
|
|
|
Selection of thrapeutic modality for 50 patient with sinusitis was clinically made from October 1th, 1996. to april 30th, 1997. at the dept. of pediatrics collage of oriental medical hospital, Tajon University.
1. The number of male was 29 cases (58%) and that female was 2 leases (42%) and so male was 1.38 much more than female, the patients between 3 and 6 years old were 40% of all which was more than other group, 6 and 9 years old were 38%, I and 3 years old were 10%, 12 years old and above were 8%, 10 and 12 years old were 4%, ditriburion of age was from within 1 to 12 years old and above.
2. Duration of disease was within 6 months to 4 years and over, and the group within 6 months was most portion as 30%, between 6 months and I year was 26%, 4 years and above was 24%, I and 2 years was 18%, 2 and 4 years was 2%.
3. Frequency in the common cold sign of age group was within 6 months to 3 years old and above, and the group of 3 years old and above were most portion as 36%, 6 months and I year were 34%, I and 3 years were 16%, within 6 months were 14%.
4. Distribution of living environment was in the orter of 50% of apart, 44% of a residental zone.
5. Distribution of season was in the orter of 38% of unrealated season, 36% of change of season, 18% of winter, 6% of spring, 2% of summer.
6. In this study, Sinusitis syndrom was showed 24 symptom, which appeared in the order of nasal obstruction(96%), cough(74%), post nasal discharge (70%), watery nasal discharge(68%), anorexia(62%), wheezing(36%), among them.
7. Distribution of 32 cases were impressioned by X-Ray, in the order of 56% of simple paranasal sinusitis, 18.75% of paranasal sinusitis and hypertropic rhinitis, 25% of syndrome of sinusitis.
This study case have a history of operation was in the order of 6% of which all were men.
8. Duration of theraphy was within I week to 6 months and over, and the group between 4 weeks and 2 months, 2 and 3 months were 24%, 6 months and over was 18%, 2 and 4 weeks was 16%, 3 and 4 months was 8%, 4 and 5 months was 6%, I and 2 weeks was 4%.
Distribution of theraphic method was the group treated western medical care transfer in oriental medical care were 48%, only oriental were 32% both care were 18%.
9. The effect of only Gamitonggyutang to the 16 cases (paranasal sinusitis hypertropic rhinitis, syndrome of sinusitis) was showed that exellent was 12.75%, and good was 50%, and thus curative rate was 62.75%.
10. The effect of Gamitonggyutang and Gamiboatang to the 34 cases (paranasal sinusitis hypertropic rhinitis, syndrome of sinusitis) was showed that exellent was 5.89%, and good was 64.71%, and thus curative rate was 70.6%.
11. Therapeutic improvement of syndrome in the period of treatment was in the order of 27.39% of 2 and 4 weeks, 24.35% of 4 and 6 weeks,
17.39% of 6 weeks and over, 16.96% of within I week, 13.06% of 1 and 2 weeks.
12. From above results the remakable effect was 68%, of which 8% was excellent and 60% was good.
